We Reccomend

Here you will find what we reccomend in to do, see and visit in West Iceland.

Guðrun´s bath

Gudrun´s Bath in Sælingsdal is the oldest natural geothermal pool according to the sagas, but it disappeared in the 19th century because of a landslide. The pool was said to be wholesome and used a lot as bathing pool in the old days, as mentioned in the Icelandic sagas Laxdæla and Sturlungu.

Now a replica of this old bath has been built and also a locker room where it is possible to change clothes. Please be careful as the water temperature in the pool may vary suddenly. Entering the pool is on own responsibility. Entrance is free of charge.
