We Reccomend

Here you will find what we reccomend in to do, see and visit in West Iceland.

Northern Lights

This is the right time to go looking for the Aurora Borealis or northern lights. The nights are cold, but bright and clear - and still dark enough to see them.

Night comes at the moment at around 6.30 – 7.00 pm. And then you should dress warmly, take your snow boots or a good car and start to go looking for them. They always come as a surprise, you‘ll never know exactly when and if, but when they come, it is an unforgettable display of beauty ...

And even if you are not so lucky: With the snow, our nights are very bright, especially by moonlight. Take a newspaper and try to read it outside – it could be possible.

By the way, the Aurora Borealis has its origin in the electronic particles which arrive with the sun wind and collide with the earth‘s magnetosphere.
